Aus eins mach zwei. Aus zehn Tagen im Herbst werden 2024 vier Tage im Frühjahr und fünf Tage im Herbst: DAVE PART ONE vom 25. bis 28. April ist schon vorbei. Nun steht DAVE PART TWO vom 2. bis 6. Oktober an und bietet ein gewohnt vielfältiges Programm von audiovisuellen Liveshows, Partys und Kino bis hin zu Diskussionspanels und Workshops.

DAVE PART TWO: PROGRAMM

Los geht es am Mittwoch, dem 2. Oktober, diesmal ausnahmsweise mal nicht mit dem DAVE Opening, sondern dem neuen Format YPSILON, das sich als Nachfolger der vielumjubelten Youngins-Night vor allem an die jüngere Hip-Hop-Gemeinde richtet. Am Donnerstag, dem Tag der Deutschen Einheit, zieht DAVE erstmals ins frisch neueröffnete Archiv der Avantgarden– Egidio Marzon zum großen Schulterschluss zwischen Club- und Hochkultur. Damit möglichst viele Zuschauende dieses doch ziemlich einzigartige Veranstaltungsformat erleben können, gibt es bei Club Contraire: DAVE x Archiv der Avantgarden – Egidio Marzona gleich zwei Konzertdurchgänge. Und beim Producer Meeting tauschen sich ausgefuchste Veteran*innen mit vielversprechenden Noobs über Tipps und Kniffe beim Produzieren aus.

Am Freitagnachmittag lockt zunächst das Blechschloss mit spannenden Gedankenspielen zum Thema Konzerte in VR, bevor am Abend die DAVE Live Stage den Vorhang lüftet, um elektronische Livesets in allen Formen und Klangfarben zu präsentieren. Party People werden entweder bei DAVE x Poco Paradiso oder bei der DAVE Future-Party glücklich, bei der die drei Gewinner*innen des diesjährigen DAVE DJ Contests auflegen werden.

Am Sonnabend können sich Interessierte entweder beim DAVE Videodreh als Statist*innen austoben oder im Thalia Kino bei Music in Motion die Jubiläumsveranstaltung zu »E2-E4« anschauen, Manuel Göttschings Meilenstein der elektronischen Musik, der 2024 40 Jahre alt wird. Und auch 2024 gilt: Kein DAVE ohne große Sektor-Party. Bei DAVE OFF! sind nicht nur großartige Acts, sondern auch jede Menge Überraschungen angekündigt. Standesgemäß bringt Beyond the Club das Festival am Sonntag zu einem versöhnlichen Ende. Das außergewöhnliche Ambient-Format – heimlicher Liebling vieler DAVE-Ultras – zieht diesmal wieder in sein Stammhaus, in die erhabene Martin-Luther-Kirche.

Drumherum gibt es spannende Diskussionen, so zum Beispiel zur kriselnden Clubkultur oder zum Status Quo des Musikjournalismus‘. Und natürlich werden bei jeder Menge Workshops auch enorm viel Wissen und noch mehr Skills transferiert, unter anderem am Donnerstag und Samstag gleich als mehrstündiges Workshop-Camp im Hole of Fame, das in diesem Jahr im Programm ohnehin eine große Rolle spielt und Heimstatt für viele spannende Veranstaltungen bietet. Zum Festival-Standard gehört auch das DAVE Radio in Kooperation mit coloRadio, diesmal gleich mit zwei Sendungen pro Festivaltag.

Wem das alles nicht reicht, findet mit der DAVE Festivalbar im Plan B immer eine gute Anlaufstation und mit ziemlicher Sicherheit auch das eine oder andere DAVE-Crewmitglied. Und wie jedes Jahr gibt es auch abseits des DAVE-Kernprogramms jede Menge spannende Veranstaltungen in den Locations der Dresdner Clubkultur, quasi als Satelliten-Events.

It all kicks off on Wednesday, October 2, and this time, it won’t be with the usual DAVE Opening but with the new format YPSILON, which, as the successor to the much-praised Youngins-Night, primarily targets the younger hip-hop community. On Thursday, German Unity Day, DAVE will make its debut in the newly reopened Archiv der Avantgarden – Egidio Marzona, bringing together club and high culture in a unique way. To allow as many people as possible to experience this extraordinary event format, Club Contraire: DAVE x Archiv der Avantgarden – Egidio Marzona will feature two concert rounds. At the Producer Meeting, seasoned veterans will exchange tips and tricks on production with promising newbies.

On Friday afternoon, Blechschloss will lure with fascinating discussions on concerts in VR, before the DAVE Live Stage opens in the evening to present electronic live sets in all shapes and sounds. Partygoers can either enjoy DAVE x Poco Paradiso or the DAVE Future Party, where the three winners of this year’s DAVE DJ Contest will perform.

On Saturday, participants can either join the DAVE video shoot as extras or watch the anniversary screening of E2-E4 at Thalia Cinema, celebrating Manuel Göttsching’s milestone in electronic music, which turns 40 in 2024. And in 2024 as well: No DAVE without the big Sektor Party. DAVE OFF! will feature not only amazing acts, but also plenty of surprises. As tradition goes, Beyond the Club will bring the festival to a peaceful close on Sunday. This extraordinary ambient format – a secret favorite among many DAVE enthusiasts – will return to its usual venue, the grand Martin-Luther-Kirche.

Alongside, there will be exciting discussions, such as those on the struggling club culture or the current state of music journalism. And of course, plenty of knowledge and skills will be shared in numerous workshops, including a multi-hour workshop camp on Thursday and Saturday at the Hole of Fame, which plays a major role in this year’s program and will host many exciting events. Another festival staple is DAVE Radio in collaboration with coloRadio, with two broadcasts per festival day this year.

If that’s not enough, the DAVE Festival Bar at Plan B will always be a good meeting point, with a high chance of running into some DAVE crew members. And as every year, there will be plenty of exciting events beyond the core DAVE program in Dresden’s club culture locations, acting as satellite events.
